Apple Hires Outside Security Firm To Prevent Any iPads From Leaving Early!

April 2, 2010 |  by Alan Vazquez  |   |  , , , , ,

Well, it’s true. Apple is really into secrecy. Why? Who knows. We all know what this thing can do. We all know what it looks like, we’ve seen videos and everything, so what is Apple hiding? Hell, I’m watching Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and a a guy from Engadget was demoing the iPad and everything, so why all of this secrecy? Is this really necessary?

Well, whether it’s necessary or not, they have hired armed guards that are literally sleeping in UPS warehouses nationwide protecting the iPads and preventing a single one from leaving the warehouse even a minute early.

So in other words, that tracking info that you have. It’s worthless. It’s purposely not updated. I assure you, it’s at your local UPS warehouse, but Apple isn’t budging and allowing them to arrive early.

Apple hired the same firm back when the iPhone was first launched!

I’m also here to remind you to check us out on Saturday, April 3rd at 8:30am (Central Standard Time) for our live video broadcast! We are going to be live from the Barton Creek Apple Store iPad launch in Austin, Texas! Brandon will be on the streets interviewing people, giving away copies of SocialMe and even some coupons to iBalls to protect your iPad!

It’s going to be lots of fun! So check us out here and at LEIMobile.com!

See you all in a few hours. :)

PRESS RELEASE: iPad Launch Day Live Coverage Rundown

April 2, 2010 |  by Brandon  |

Ok guys as you may or may not know, LEI Mobile and HMP Mobile are going to be streaming live coverage of the iPad launch from the Apple Store in Barton Creek Square Mall, Austin Tx.

Now I figured that I should try to explain what to expect tomorrow morning. Brandon, thats me, will be waiting outside the Apple Store, because they wont let me in with a live video feed or pictures for that matter :( , and I will be interviewing people here and there as they are waiting in line and as they walk out with their new iPads. For those that accept the interview I will give them a Promo Card for SocialMe, our paid iTunes app, and I will also give them a Promo Card for a discount on a set of iBallz, sponsored by iBallz.info.

If you don’t know, iBallz are corner edge sock absorbers made specifically for iPad. if you drop your precious iPad it will just bounce instead of smashing to pieces.

Anyways, for those of you in the Austin area who will be waiting in line to get an iPad be looking for me! I will be wearing my sponsored iBallz t-shirt and a blue striped jacket.

Now let me get into the actual video. We are going to do our absolute best to keep the video live but it just depends on how busy the network connection is at the Apple Store. If the live stream begins to fail I am going to switch over to post streaming the video to maintain quality. What does this mean to you the viewer? It means that if you happen to miss the live feed or the feed gets messed up there will still be video of the event after the fact.

Now onto what you can do to help us. If you are waiting in line to get your iPad and even if you are getting your’s through UPS, SEND us a picture of you and your new iPad and Alan will take all the videos we get and make a video slideshow for viewing later on Saturday night when things have settled down.

Send your pictures to

alan@limitededitioniphone.com

and he’ll be sure to get it lined up for the show.

We still have some preparations to go before we get underway so thats it for now. Stay tuned for the announcement tomorrow just before we begin for all the other information you need to contribute. Lets try to make this hotter than the 3G launch!

PRESS RELEASE: LEI Mobile v4.0 Coming April 2nd!

Hey everyone. Well, I’ve been looking forward to announcing this since I left. Well, today is the day the day that I get to do just that.

Well, as you all know, I announced LEI Mobile v4.0 back in February for a “Late-March” launch, but there was still a lot of work to be done on it, regardless of staff absence or not.

The AVBE v2.7 core still had a bit of work to do, as well as the “HMP Mobile” side of things, as well as a full transition to the new LEIMobile.com transition.

LEI Mobile sports a mess of new internals and it is basically a rewrite from LEI Mobile v3.0, even though it just looks like the GUI is more colorful and more fun to use.

LEI Mobile v4.0 represents about 2 months of work (not counting the initial core work, using our core makes it easier than a 100% rewrite every time).

Now, the LEI Mobile v4.0 project has been very secrative for many reasons, many of which have already been announced at one point or another by either Mike or I. This includes, 2X as responsive as any previous LEI Mobile version, more expandable, Push Notifications, updated GUI (more colorful), more expandable, fixes a major bug found in all previous versions of the core, and it’s overall a better experience.

So everyone should update it on their iPhone/iPod touch if you have LEI Mobile v1.0 -> 3.2 and if you don’t have it, please grab it, it’s a free download from either Cydia or the iTunes App Store.

We’ve updated it to support for iPhone OS 3.0 -> iPad OS 3.2/iPhone OS 3.1.3 and it runs like a dream on even the oldest iPhone or iPod touch. :)

LEI Mobile v4.0 will be available for free on Cydia on April 2nd, and it will be available for free on the iTunes App Store in “Late-April” as the review process can take an unpredictable amount of time.

So there you go everyone. We always have the latest news on the iPhone/iPod touch, iPad, Mac, or anything Apple related right here at LEIMobile.com and HackMyPad.com!

We hope to gain some serious marketshare on iTunes, and we are hoping to further increase our market dominance on Cydia as well, because we think that we’ve truly got something very special on our hands, LEI Mobile v4.0, the fastest, powerful, and most colorful, LEI Mobile yet!

Thank You!

UPDATED: iPad “Rush Delivery” Buyers Rejoice! You Got Jacked… Wait. What?!

March 30, 2010 |  by Alan Vazquez  |   |  , , , , ,

UPDATE: As of this afternoon, Apple is returning your $12. Don’t you just love the power that we, the media, have? :)

Yep, that’s right people. For those of you who chose “Rush Delivery” when pre-ordering your iPad from Apple, congrats! You got robbed of $12!

Well, it seems as though Apple had been charging $12 for “Rush Delivery” on round one of iPads so that you got your iPad on April 3rd, however, even if you chose “Standard Shipping”, you are STILL getting your iPad on April 3rd! Wha wha?!

Yep. Exactly. Now, I recomend calling Apple and trying to get your $12 back.

Apple has not been able to say why the $12 “Rush Delivery” and the “Standard Delivery” arrival dates are the same.

More info as I get it…
